Comfort Food is a stylized installation where anonymity turns into intimacy and frames the visitor by a logistic support which finally leads to a question; ‘Stay with me’. The action is caused by the design of the space and creates itself. Also here, as in all installations of Karin van Pinxteren, the visitor is held an inner mirror. Experiences as a Hostess in her performances and patterns from interior architecture are the basic ingredients of Comfort Food and are used to guide the visitor. The red does not oxidize, it is a perpetuity of ‘the now’.

Comfort Food is een gestileerde installatie waarin anonimiteit overgaat in intimiteit en de bezoeker wordt omkaderd door een logistieke drager die uiteindelijk naar een vraag leidt; ‘Stay with me’. De actie wordt veroorzaakt door de inrichting van de ruimte en ontstaat daardoor vanzelf. Zoals in alle installaties van Karin van Pinxteren wordt ook hier de bezoeker een innerlijke spiegel voorgehouden. Ervaringen uit haar Hostess performances en wetmatigheden uit de interieurarchitectuur liggen ten grondslag aan Comfort Food en worden ingezet om de bezoeker te begeleiden. Het rood oxideert niet, het is een perpetuïteit van het nu.
